Privacy Statement

The Ottawa OHNA is committed to protecting privacy and confidentiality of member personal information and the information of any individual who makes inquiries by e-mail and/or accesses our web page.

In order to comply with privacy legislation, we have developed this Privacy Statement.

Any personally identifiable information about a member or individual making an inquiry is considered personal information and will be treated in accordance with this Privacy Statement.

 

The Ottawa OHNA only collects, uses and discloses personal information for the following identified purposes:

·        development and distribution of a Membership Directory which is shared only with paid members of the Ottawa OHNA,

·        development of an e-mail distribution list for the purposes of distributing the Ottawa OHNA monthly newsletter and/or time sensitive mailouts which is distributed only to paid members of the Ottawa OHNA, and

·        statistical purpose on the utilization of our web page (number of hits only)

Ottawa OHNA will only collect, use or disclose personal information that is necessary for those identified purposes listed above.

 

If personal information is required for any other purpose, the member or individual making an inquiry via e-mail and/or through our web page will be notified and collection, use and disclosure will be subject to the consent of the individual, member and/or by a vote of the membership.

 

All membership lists, minutes, financial activities and other documentation of the Ottawa OHNA, which may contain personal information, will be archived in a manner to maintain privacy and for a timeframe as determined by a vote of the membership.

An individual and/or member may request that their personal information not be distributed in any or all of the above-identified purposes by submitting their request in writing to the Ottawa OHNA President.

Ottawa OHNA will maintain the members personal information as accurate, complete and up-to-date as is necessary for the identified purposes.

 

The Ottawa OHNA Executive is responsible for the safeguard of each member’s personal information. Safeguards will vary depending on the sensitivity, formal, location and storage of the personal information.

 

If a member is not satisfied with the Ottawa OHNA response to a privacy related inquiry or complaint, they can contact the President.
